Libi Jacob Oommen – Mortgage Support
Libi Jacob Oommen is part of the NZ Mobile Mortgages team as Mortgage Support, helping our Mortgage Advisers and clients throughout the home loan process. With over 15 years of experience across finance, accounting, customer service, and leadership roles in New Zealand and India, Libi brings extensive financial knowledge, strong organisational skills, and a client-focused approach to his role.
Libi holds the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) – Residential Property Lending and is continuing to develop his practical knowledge and experience within the New Zealand mortgage industry. In his Mortgage Support role, he assists our advisers with the preparation and coordination of home loan applications, documentation, lender requirements, application follow-ups, and ongoing client support.
Working alongside NZ Mobile Mortgages’ Financial Advisers, Libi helps ensure clients receive a smooth and well-organised experience throughout their property journey, whether they are purchasing their first home, refinancing, investing in property, or reviewing their existing lending arrangements. Financial advice and recommendations are provided by the appropriately authorised Financial Adviser, with Libi supporting the adviser and client throughout the process.
Prior to joining the mortgage industry, Libi built an extensive career in finance and management, holding senior positions in both New Zealand and India. His professional background includes financial management, lending operations, fund management, regulatory compliance, bank reconciliations, payroll administration, risk management, and customer relationship management. This experience provides him with a strong foundation for supporting advisers and clients through the mortgage application process.
Beyond his professional career, Libi is a passionate community leader who has made a significant contribution to the New Zealand Malayali community. He has served in several executive leadership roles within community organisations and has been involved in the planning and delivery of numerous cultural, sporting, charitable, and fundraising initiatives.
In recognition of his contribution to the community, Libi was honoured with the Community Award for Services to the Malayali Community in Auckland at the 11th Annual Sports, Community, Arts & Culture Awards 2025, presented by Indian Newslink. The award recognised his leadership, volunteer service, and contribution to the community.
